Recently I discovered Traveler’s Notebook, a customizable journal system that consists of a cover with a rubber strap and a variety of inserts you can choose. I put three in my new notebook to start with, a basic blank notebook, a kraftpaper notebook and a watercolor notebook. What I appreciate most is the notebook inserts are easy to put in or take out and that I can combine multiple journals I’d been using into one. Instead of having my notes planner, a nature journal and a nudibranch journal in three individual hardcover journals, I can now combine them. And then when I travel again one day, I can put a new one in to take notes, watercolor sketches and even put in tickets or other travel items. Or I can keep one notebook per project. The flexibility is brilliant.

I received it recently and broke in the watercolor notebook with a sketch of the nudibranchs I saw at the night low tide this week. I also tried out the Koi travel watercolor set I got before the pandemic began and hadn’t used yet.
