365 Nature – Day 314
In 2016 I’m doing a 365 Nature project. Learn more about the project and see all the 365 Nature posts.
Today I don’t have many words, but a lot of feelings. Anger, shock, depression and helplessness were all rolling through me during my walk in the rain today. Nature is usually my salvation, my consolation, but today I fear there won’t be enough nature left in the next few years. I worry about catastrophic disasters that will take generations to recover from. I worry that instead of taking solace from nature, we will do nothing but fight to preserve what little we can. I worry that our public lands will be destroyed and national parks auctioned off. I worry.

Aptly said. Today is a very dark day in American politics. I felt a need today to keep busy so as not to dwell on yesterday’s events.
