STREET CREATURES QUIZ

What is Street Creatures?  This is the game I run on Twitter every Friday. I’ve
collected all the past quizzes here in one place so you can either relive them, or play
them for the first time.

How does it work?  Provided are four, seemingly unrelated clues, that are all
connected by a wild organism that can be found in a city. Look at the four clues,
do some research, and when you think you’ve figured it out, click on ‘Answer’
to reveal what connects the clues, and how they are connected.

Follow me on Twitter to play #StreetCreatures live every Friday at 9am PST.

Barnacle Goose (Branta leucopsis)

The Herball Or Generall Historie of Plantes:

This book continued the myth that Barnacle Geese grew from driftwood in the sea since their summer location was a mystery. The whole book is here.

View the book.

White Face:

The second half of the Barnacle Goose’s scientific name, Branta leucopsis, means ‘white face’.

Arctic Fox:

One of the Barnacle Goose’s biggest predators is the Arctic Fox, who often feed on the chicks which are, as @little_jems said, ‘airmailed to them every year’…..because of the next clue.

Cliff:

To escape from predators, like the Arctic Fox, Barnacle Geese nest on top of giant, towering cliffs. But there’s no food, so the chicks have to JUMP from the top. If you haven’t seen this video before, WATCH NOW
