STREET CREATURES QUIZ

What is Street Creatures?  This is the game I run on Twitter every Friday. I’ve
collected all the past quizzes here in one place so you can either relive them, or play
them for the first time.

How does it work?  Provided are four, seemingly unrelated clues, that are all
connected by a wild organism that can be found in a city. Look at the four clues,
do some research, and when you think you’ve figured it out, click on ‘Answer’
to reveal what connects the clues, and how they are connected.

Follow me on Twitter to play #StreetCreatures live every Friday at 9am PST.

Hermit Crab

Eric Carle:

Wrote a book called ‘A House for Hermit Crab’.

Snail:

Hermit crabs require snail shells for their homes. Different crab species have preferences for different snail species, but they do not kill the snails. They are often on the hunt for new shells as they grow and will fight other crabs for them.

Handedness:

Different species of hermit crabs are either right or left handed and are even divided into families that way. That means one claw is larger than the other. Not all hermit species have uneven claws though!

Asymmetrical:

The abdomen of the hermit crab curves to one side to fit into the snail’s shell. So they have smaller appendages on one side of their body.
